I am a night walker

Sometimes I go out for walks at night--just to clear my head and empty my accumulated mental clutter.  The days are demanding of my attention and so much effort is required to keep everything running smoothly.  By sunset, my mind is like an overflowing trash compactor--unable to hold or compress anything more.

So I walk at night.  Just me and the brisk Minnesota wind to keep me company.  The scrunch of the snow under my shoes and my tousled hair flapping along in the breeze--that is my modus operandi.  It is refreshing and in some odd way it sews together the soul's tattered rags.  I always feel better after a twilight stroll.

Furthermore, when walking at night with a clear mind and a sense of perspective, a new world seems to open up.  I can not believe how different the street, houses and trees look after dusk.  Darkness covers the imperfections and blemishes exposed by daylight.
