Two puffins on the coast of Maine.
Always looking o'er the sea.
On precipice their egg does lay.
They pay no heed to me.
Seed and fish they scrounge together.
A harsh place to make a life.
Through blistering snow and weather
no sadness in their strife.
Rich in glee these noble birds are.
Watch a moment and you'll see.
Two birds are wealthier by far--
together they are free.
